Okay, don’t judge me. I know this list is kind of diverse and weird in a way. During the quarantine period, I’ve been catching up on some Netflix series and some other stuff just like what I have mentioned in my last post. Well, I think now is the perfect time to catch up or discover new shows to watch especially if you have plenty of free time like me. Maybe, some of you may have already watched some of these shows but let me share with you several tv series I personally like and maybe you’ll like them, too. Most of the shows are from Netflix, as you can see. If you don’t have a subscription to Netflix, I’m guessing you can stream them from other websites, too? (I’m just not sure where, please do help others out by commenting below if you know.)
- Spinning Out
Where to watch? Netflix.
Well, the reasons why I started watching this was because of: 1. It’s Kaya Scodelario (I find her really pretty) and 2. It reminded me of From Lukov with Love like A LOT. At first, I thought the series was based from the book but there were parts of the storyline that are different, so maybe it was just a coincidence. Anyway, this series deals with competitive sports, family issues and mental health. It’s not something I’m used to watching because I don’t really watch western series a lot, but it’s a good series. Unfortunately, though, Netflix cancelled the series after the first season. Try watching this if you like figure skating or sports-related series! - Hyori’s Bed and Breakfast
Where to watch? Netflix.
I became addicted to this show and it’s not even a drama! I first saw Lee Hyori in Running Man’s first episode and when I first watched this one, I immediately recognized her. What I like about this reality show is how peaceful life is in Jeju and though running a BnB may seemingly look boring, their engagement with each other and the happenings are very entertaining. I love her pets! - High School Musical: The Musical: The Series
Where to watch? Disney +.
I know, right? The title is a mouthful. Lol. OK, I thought this was going to be a remake of our beloved HSM but nope, it’s THE MUSICAL: THE SERIES. Well, I even thought I was too old to watch this series but I got hooked! It made me feel nostalgic. The actors are pretty good singers and I loved the original songs, even their HSM song revivals. And no, I’m not saying this just because Olivia Rodrigo (who plays Nini) is half-Filipino but the girl is crazy talented! And yes, I love Joshua Bassett even though I’m 5 years older than him.
- Kakegurui
Where to watch? Netflix.
I definitely did not expect that I will like this anime. At first, I was so weirded out but I like its concept. So, the story revolves around a not-so-ordinary school where gambling is a big deal and students are basically evaluated based on their gambling skills. The reason why I liked this one is because of the suspense. It’s good, and it’s so unlike me to actually enjoy this but I did.
- Kingdom
Where to watch? Netflix.
I started watching this one two weeks ago. I’m not really a fan of zombie shows because I hate gore stuff but this one, I liked. Maybe it’s because of the plot and the acting? Koreans are pretty remarkable when it comes to creating stories and acting. This show is quite similar to what we are experiencing now during this pandemic. You should definitely watch this if you haven’t. I can’t wait for season 3!!
- Itaewon Class
Where to watch? Netflix.
Have I told you that Koreans are so good at making great story plots? This drama is so empowering, and it made me cry so much! It tackles many issues mostly societal issues like racism, gender discrimination, and more! If you are a business owner especially in the food industry, or you want to start-up a business, you can get tips just by watching this. It’s just really an inspiring drama with so many life lessons.
- Crash Landing on You
Where to watch? Netflix.
Now, how could I ever forget this? This drama made me crazy! I have always been curious about North Korea and though most of the parts in this drama are fictional, I like how they incorporated real-life situations, too. I think they even hired North Korean defectors to help with the story/acting. You can even see the difference between North and South because of their accent, way of living, fashion and more. And, my God, Switzerland. What I really like about Korean dramas is their ability to promote places (especially their own), endorse their merchandise without doing it IN YOUR FACE style and so so much more. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who likes romcoms. Definitely one of my favorites!
I know most of my recommendations are Asian shows, not because I’m Asian, but because I genuinely liked these shows though these are just a few of my recommendations. I know I didn’t put Money Heist here because I haven’t finished that one yet. Lol. But I’m really curious about what you have been watching lately. Maybe you can send some recommendations for me, too!

I know right! I love Kim Dami. She did a really great job portraying her role and her character has a great fashion sense.

Gosh I haven’t watched any of these shows! I’ve been working from home and homeschooling the kids, so I feel like I have even less free time than before. That said, I am always looking for some good Netflix recommendations – it’s easy to get lost in the wide selection. I like the sound of Hyori’s Bed and Breakfast – thanks for the tip!!

I did a post on tv shows to watch during this period too! It’s been a go-to activity since staying home leaves me with a lot of time on my hands. I haven’t tried out any of these shows but I may need to. I’ve been a huge fan of Kim’s Convenience, Mr. Kim never fails to get me to laugh. I’ve also been binge watching Shark Tank on Hulu.
Thanks for sharing your recommendations doll, stay safe!

CLOY took my kdrama vcard on the first week of quarantine. And it has been a journey ever since. I haven’t really watched western series the way I do kdrama now. I watch a little Dynasty here and there but that’s about it. It’s safe to say all attention has been shifted. I’m just glad I’ve finally learned to control my oppa intake lol. I hope you’re well! x
Hugs,
Cae
P.S. I’M IN LOVE WITH YOUR VIBE!
